Demonstrating swift footwork and innovative tactics both in the hole and at the second level. He displays distinctive movement patterns that blend linear explosiveness with sudden lateral shifts and precise body control. Maintains forward momentum even while executing evasive maneuvers. Utilizes a potent hesitation move to freeze defenders before bursting past them with speed.
Nakoa faces a significant hurdle in college football, where programs often prioritize size over heart. Unfortunately, size can be a determining factor. Despite this, Nakoa is undoubtedly a college-ready running back, although he may need to rely more on his kick and punt return skills and receiving abilities out of the backfield rather than his effectiveness between the tackles. We envision him being more impactful in the slot position and as a return specialist rather than a running back with a heavy workload. This isn’t to say it’s impossible, but it’s challenging to see him receiving opportunities to carry the ball consistently unless he adds about 20 to 25 pounds of muscle, which could potentially impact his agility and speed.
At the Division II or NAIA level, Nakoa could thrive as a running back operating off the edge and catching passes out of the backfield. He possesses natural agility to evade defenders and break to the outside. Hawaii has been a source of emerging football talent in college, and Nakoa undoubtedly has the potential to defy expectations if given the chance.
