He began his football journey with the Chamberlayne Packers at just five years old, starting in flag football. During this time, he began to show clear signs of his athletic ability, combining speed, toughness, and a growing passion for football.
He continued his development at Bell Creek Middle School, where he played two seasons at both running back and middle linebacker. His experience there helped him refine his skills, build confidence, and further establish himself as a versatile and impactful player on the field.
As a freshman Ball played running back and middle linebacker at the junior varsity level, where he earned a starting role and made an immediate impact. Offensively, he was a physical runner who consistently finished runs by powering through defenders and served as a reliable option in key situations, especially when the team needed crucial first downs. He also contributed in pass protection, effectively blocking defenders and helping sustain drives, while adding value as a touchdown producer.
Midway through the season, his performance earned him the opportunity to dress for varsity games, gaining valuable exposure to the speed and intensity of the next level, even though he did not see game action.
During his sophomore year he began the season as the second-string running back but quickly worked his way into the starting role by midseason. Once given the opportunity, he delivered multiple breakout performances, showcasing his ability to make an impact as a primary ball carrier. His production and consistency helped solidify his role as the team’s go-to back.
