Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Derrick Tatum had a notable football career from high school to the professional ranks. During his high school years, he earned the prestigious title of High School All-American as a running back. After his high school journey, Tatum continued his football pursuits at the University of Kentucky, where he was a part of the team from 1999 to 2003.
After college, Tatum seized the opportunity to play in the NFL. In 2003, he joined the Tennessee Titans and later donned the jersey of the Seattle Seahawks in 2004. During his professional career, Tatum identified a critical gap in the mental and physical development of football athletes, inspiring him to establish Elite Talent, a comprehensive football program to address this gap.
Elite Talent Football encompasses a wide range of football-related aspects. It provides high-intensity training, mentorship programs to cultivate a student mindset, guidance through the recruitment process for students and parents, organized college visits, and opportunities for 7v7 competitions. Tatum’s program has achieved significant success, with over 220 students from the Elite Talents program gaining admission to college in the past eight years. Additionally, more than 500 students have received offers after participating in camps hosted by Derrick Tatum, including the Elite GA Showcase, Adidas GA Showcase, and NCEC National College Evaluation Camps.
In addition to his work with Elite Talent, Derrick Tatum has assumed the role of National Director for Middle School Tackle Football and the US Army Bowl. He has also become a motivational speaker and engages with youth in Georgia and across the United States. Tatum’s unwavering commitment to developing young football players and his substantial contributions to the sport have impacted the football community.
