BIOGRAPHY

Rico Debose Jr. has been playing football since the age of six, and from the moment he stepped on the field, his goal has been to compete at the collegiate level. He understands that the opportunity to play college football is rare and is fully committed to doing everything necessary to earn that chance.

Debose Jr consistently works to develop his game both on and off the field. In addition to team practices, he trains independently and with professional trainers to become bigger, faster, and stronger. He takes pride in being a leader by example, bringing energy to his team, and pushing those around him to improve. In addition to football, he competes in the 400m, 4x400m relay, and 300m hurdles on his school’s varsity track and field team to further enhance his athleticism. He is highly coachable and committed to being one of the hardest-working athletes in any program.

Academically, he challenges himself with a full IB course load while balancing athletics and maintaining his GPA. Debose Jr’s cumulative GPA translates to a 3.2 NCAA core GPA due to the rigor of his advanced coursework. He values discipline in the classroom just as much as on the field. Outside of school, he gives back to his community by volunteering each summer with the Neighborhood Children’s Sports League (NCSL), a youth football league that helped shape him into the player he is today.

Debose Jr is seeking a college where he can compete at a high level while continuing to grow both academically and athletically. He is open to all opportunities and focused on finding the best fit to reach his full potential, represent his program with pride, and serve as a positive role model on and off the field.

Rico Debose Jr is a versatile defensive back with experience at both safety and corner, showing a strong combination of instincts, physicality, and ball production. He projects best as a safety at the next level, but has positional flexibility that adds value in multiple defensive schemes.

Debose Jr.’s production and versatility give him a strong foundation for attracting interest from college programs competing at a championship level. As his physical tools continue to develop and his exposure increases, he has the potential to significantly elevate his recruitment profile.
