Developed under top-tier coaching, they showcase exceptional hand placement, leverage, and football IQ, making them highly adaptable to multiple offensive schemes. Their combination of physicality, discipline, and relentless work ethic has made Alabama’s offensive line a cornerstone of the team’s success, consistently paving the way for high-powered offenses and preparing players for the next level. Here are some defensive backs to keep an eye on:

                                                                                                               Wesley Sandefur — Fairhope High School                                             Wesley Sandefur is a student-athlete at Fairhope High School in Fairhope, Alabama, graduating in the Class of 2026. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 245 pounds, he plays as an offensive lineman for the Fairhope Pirates football team. In 2024, as a junior, Wesley earned Second Team All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) for his performance on the offensive line. Beyond football, Wesley is also active in wrestling, competing in the 285 lbs weight class. He participated in the 2025 AHSAA State Championships, showcasing his versatility and athleticism across multiple sports. 

Bradley Haizlip – Oak Mountain High School                             Bradley Haizlip is a student-athlete at Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating in the Class of 2026. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 260 pounds, he plays as an offensive lineman for the Oak Mountain Eagles football team. In 2024, as a junior, Bradley earned Second Team All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) for his performance on the offensive line.  He has also showcased his skills and highlights on platforms like Hudl, where his athleticism and technique are evident.

Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating in the Class of 2027. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 270 pounds, he plays as an offensive lineman for the Parker Thundering Herd football team. In 2024, as a sophomore, Demetrius earned First Team All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) for his performance on the offensive line. His contributions were instrumental in Parker High School securing the 6A state championship that year. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 275 pounds, he plays as an offensive lineman for the Citronelle Wildcats football team.                                                                                                                Ricky Wisdom – Guntersville High School                                          Ricky Wisdom is a student-athlete at Guntersville High School in Guntersville, Alabama, graduating in the Class of 2026. Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 270 pounds, he plays as an offensive lineman, specifically at tackle, guard, and center positions, for the Guntersville Wildcats football team. In 2024, as a junior, Ricky earned Second Team All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) for his performance on the offensive line.  His contributions were instrumental in Guntersville High School achieving a successful season.                                                                                                               Michael Bowens Jr  – W.S. Neal High School                                        Michael Bowens Jr. is a junior at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, Alabama, where he plays as an offensive tackle for the school’s football team. Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 300 pounds, he is a prominent figure on the offensive line. Throughout his high school career, Bowens has garnered attention from several collegiate programs. As of January 2025, he has received scholarship offers from Florida, East Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia State, and Eastern Kentucky. His performance on the field has earned him recognition, such as a second-team selection by the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA). Beyond football, Bowens maintains a strong academic record with a reported GPA of 3.9. His combination of athletic prowess and academic dedication positions him as a notable student-athlete at W.S.                                                                                                                     Johnathan Bowling – Decatur Heritage High School                           Johnathan Bowling is a junior at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy in Decatur, Alabama, where he plays for the school’s football team. Standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds, Bowling contributes as both an offensive guard and defensive tackle.

During the 2024 season, Bowling showcased his skills on the offensive line, achieving a 92% blocking grade and recording 17 pancake blocks. His performance earned him second-team All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA). Bowling’s dedication and impact on the field have made him a key player for the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles, reflecting his commitment to excellence in high school football.
