HUDL Highlights

BIOGRAPHY

After beginning his high school career in Pennsylvania—where he attracted early interest from several MAC programs—he has continued to elevate his game in Oklahoma’s highly competitive 5A division. With a relentless motor, natural leadership traits, and a ceiling that projects well at the FBS level, Barton is a recruit that college programs should be tracking closely.

URA EVALUATION

Verified at 6’5″, 200+ pounds with a 6’8″ wingspan, Kade Barton checks every box physically for a high-ceiling defensive end or hybrid edge at the next level. His frame is lean and athletic with ample room to add muscle without sacrificing mobility. Barton possesses rare length and functional athleticism that immediately jumps off the tape, especially in backside pursuit and pass-rushing scenarios.

A multi-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and track, Barton has posted a 6’4″ high jump and 24.19 200m dash, showcasing the type of twitch, hip mobility, and lower-body explosion that translate well to edge play at the Power 5 level. His movement is fluid for his size, and he plays with excellent pad level and motor traits that are often uncommon at this developmental stage.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Barton drew early interest from several MAC schools before transferring to Oklahoma, where he quickly established himself as one of the top defenders in Class 5A. He tallied 87 total tackles and 7 sacks in his sophomore season, flashing refined hand usage, flexibility off the edge, and natural instincts in both run support and pass rush.

Barton also offers intriguing upside as a tight end, with body control and coordination in space, making him a potential two-way contributor depending on scheme fit. His ability to bend, redirect, and finish plays makes him one of the most versatile and projectable athletes in Oklahoma’s 2027 class.
