BIOGRAPHY

Class of 2029 quarterback Matthew “Bo” Benton is a talented young signal caller from Atlanta, Georgia, who combines the foundation of a pro-style quarterback with the athleticism to create plays outside the pocket. Benton is known for his ability to read defenses, remain composed under pressure, and deliver accurate throws while displaying the mobility to extend plays when protection breaks down.

Now competing at Pebblebrook High School, Benton continues to gain valuable varsity experience against high-level Georgia competition. His football IQ, pocket awareness, confidence, and natural leadership allow him to command the offense, while his athletic ability gives defenses another element to account for when he escapes the pocket.

Benton began building his résumé during a productive freshman season at Lanier, establishing himself early as a promising quarterback prospect. That experience provided a strong foundation as he continues developing his mechanics, accuracy, decision-making, anticipation, and overall command of the position.

Still early in his high school career, Benton has significant room for physical and technical development. His combination of arm talent, football intelligence, competitive mentality, mobility, and early varsity experience makes him an intriguing Class of 2029 quarterback to follow.

Benton’s goal is to continue developing into a complete quarterback, help lead his program, and ultimately earn the opportunity to play football at the collegiate level.

URA EVALUATION

Matthew “Bo” Benton is an athletic sophomore quarterback whose early varsity production gives him an intriguing developmental trajectory at Pebblebrook. Benton brings legitimate dual-threat ability, showing the mobility to create outside structure while still functioning as the Falcons’ primary passer. His ability to contribute roughly 150 yards of total offense per game at this stage of his development is encouraging, particularly considering the level of competition he’s seeing in Georgia’s highest classification.

His next developmental jump will come from improving consistency as a passer, particularly processing speed, ball placement, anticipation and decision-making against increasingly complex varsity coverage. Physically, continued growth and strength development will also be important. The athletic foundation, competitiveness and early production are already present. Benton profiles as a quarterback who warrants continued evaluation because his sophomore film is the beginning of the projection, not the finished product.
