The 10th Annual NCEC Elite Talent Camp, hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, showcased exceptional talent nationwide. Recognized as the South’s premier National Exposure Camp, this platform has served as a launchpad for numerous NFL stars such as Trevor Lawrence, Derrick Brown, Kyle Hamilton, Darrin Waller, and Super Bowl Champion Mecole Harman. With a stellar track record, the NCEC Camp Series has become the go-to destination for thousands of aspiring athletes seeking recognition.

Throughout the camp’s competitive sessions, participants immersed themselves in rigorous individual drills, engaging in 1v1 matchups and the highly anticipated “Best of The Best” showcase. This format aimed to spotlight top performers on both offense and defense, including the formidable Big Boys. The intensity heightened as the focus shifted to the top ten players in each age group and position, vying for supremacy until one athlete emerged victorious.

These standout performers represent the pinnacle of talent, receiving offers either during the camp or in the immediate aftermath. The camp’s proactive approach includes real-time dissemination of content to their extensive college network, facilitating opportunities for athletes to secure offers. Moreover, select middle and high school athletes are chosen to represent their schools at the Army All-American Bowl Try-outs, further enhancing their exposure and prospects.

TOP MVP HIGH SCHOOL  SCHOOL DEFENSIVE BACKS AND TOP PERFORMERS

1.) Bryce Randolph – NCEC MVP High School

Randolph consistently stood out throughout the camp, exceeding expectations and shining brightly in drills and one-on-one matchups against defensive backs. His impressive performance led to his first offer from UMass, which was officially announced at the camp’s conclusion.

On the field, Randolph showcases his skills as a lengthy defensive back. Standing tall at 6’1″, he effectively utilizes his long arms. He demonstrates impressive linear closing speed and boasts a wide pursuit range. Whether starting deep, moving downhill, or navigating the alleys, Randolph excels in forward play. His overall smoothness, agility, and quick recovery speed highlight his athleticism.

2.) Mckaden Smith – NCEC High School Top Performer

As a three-star cornerback with approximately 20 offers, Smith displays great technique. He had a solid day, displaying great technique and closing speed during one-on-ones. Standing at 5’11, 165 pounds, Smith is a fluid athlete with impressive play speed and agility when changing direction. His backpedal is efficient, and he transitions in and out of breaks with good agility, masking most errors with his quick closing speed.

Comfortable in off-man coverage, he also has experience closer to the line of scrimmage. In his junior year, he recorded two interceptions, ten PBUs, zero touchdowns allowed (under 40 yards), and only three catches allowed. He ended the season with 1st Team All-Region and 1st Team All-County honors.

He’s a sizable defensive back with an excellent ability to change directions and rotate his hips effectively. His size and aggressive approach in high school led to frequent appearances in the box or on the edge. Roberson demonstrates skill in planting his feet, reversing direction, and driving toward the football to secure tackles. He is a disrupter in the backfield.

Fearless in contact situations, he willingly engages blockers to reach the ball carrier. Leveraging his 6’2″ stature, he limits quarterbacks’ mobility in the backfield by closing down space effectively. His fluid hip movement enables him to mirror receivers downfield, making it challenging for them to create separation.

Hudgins demonstrates a keen ability to anticipate throws and effectively time his breaks. He’s willing to battle through hands at the catch point in his pursuit of making a play. As a tackler, he shows willingness, often lunging at ball carriers to make impactful strikes before wrapping up. His technique is notable, displaying good knee bend and hip flexibility, facilitating smooth transitions out of his backpedal. A highly efficient mover, he minimizes wasted motion, showcasing excellent short-area change of direction and the ability to plant and drive effectively. Additionally, he exhibits flashes of impressive bursts to close out of his backpedal.

Zach Walton, a cornerback, showcases commendable short-area quickness and agility, facilitating seamless transitions in and out of breaks. His versatility is evident as he adeptly fulfills multiple roles in the secondary. Walton possesses sharp ball awareness, proving valuable in both run support and pass defense situations. He approaches tackling assertively, unafraid to initiate contact and deliver impactful hits. Additionally, he excels in open-field scenarios, consistently making plays downfield. Leveraging his exceptional instincts, Walton effectively tracks the ball in the air, further enhancing his defensive prowess.
