Other notable games to watch this season are cross-state matchups, which will play a significant role in reshaping the rankings this week. Notably, fifth-ranked Quince Orchards (Gaithersburg, MD) 33-0 victory over South County (Lorton,VA) pushed South County out of the Virginia Top 20. Meanwhile, further south in Norfolk, the second ranked Maury (Norfolk,VA) defeated, the twelfth-ranked Wise 34-14 which may case the Pumas to drop significantly in its standings.
Additionally, Friendship Collegiate (Washington DC) ventured to California to take on the nation’s top ranked team, St. John Bosco. Despite eventually succumbing with a score of 48-12, Friendship Collegiate held its own, trailing by just one point, 7-6, after the first quarter, demonstrating their resilience in a challenging encounter.
