Georgia HS Football: Mill Creek Defeats Buford Taking #1 Spot!
In the realm of Georgia football, Buford reigns supreme as the state’s top contender. They made their mark early on, signaling their prowess by defeating Baltimore’s St. Francis Academy and swiftly ascending from the 10th to the 5th national ranking.
On the opposite side of the country, No. 12 Mill Creek has emerged as a formidable force, determined to unseat Buford from their throne as Georgia’s top dog. Their well-utilized week off was evident in their preparations for the highly anticipated clash with No. 4 Buford, which was televised on ESPN2. Mill Creek, entering the game undefeated and ranked 3rd in Georgia, wasted no time in announcing their presence by triumphing over Buford with a final score of 31-24.
This unexpected victory for Mill Creek has pushed Buford down to the 2nd spot in the state rankings, still ahead of two other nationally recognized programs, Colquitt County at 3rd and Walton at 4th. Mill Creek’s success has propelled them from 9th in the national rankings to 1st in the state of Georgia, while Buford, now at 17th, has experienced a significant drop in their national standing.
