Jabril Hill Carries Fort Hill To Another 1A State Title With 300+ Yards & Five Touchdowns
In a resounding victory, Junior running back Jabril Daniels of Fort Hill dominated Mountain Ridge 45-21, clinching the Class 1A state championship. In a commanding performance, Daniels’s exceptional play saw him amass over 300 yards rushing and five touchdowns, propelling Fort Hill to its 10th state title.
The Fort Hill sensation ignited the game with a remarkable 63-yard touchdown run on the opening play. Just before the half, Daniels sprinted for a thrilling 59-yard score, bookending an exceptional first-half performance. Daniel’s performance included runs for 63, 62, 42, 2, and 59 yards, each ending in touchdowns. His impressive 303 rushing yards on 21 carries propelled Fort Hill to their third consecutive state title and eighth since 2013.
His four explosive touchdown runs helped cement his place in Fort Hill history by breaking the school’s single-season records for touchdowns and points with an impressive total of 34 touchdowns and 208 points. Despite Mountain Ridge’s efforts to match Fort Hill’s offensive prowess, they could only respond once with a 73-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Will Patterson to Will Ketterman. By the time Daniels sealed his final touchdown and Fort Hill extended their lead to 42-7, the running clock was enforced with a commanding 35-point advantage as the second half began. Despite the running clock, Mountain Ridge managed a couple of fourth-quarter touchdowns, but the outcome remained undisputed, solidifying Fort Hill’s dominant victory.
