Class 1A Predictions:
Class 1A may be the smallest classification, but it’s not lacking in intensity and fierce competition. Traditional powerhouses like Fort Hill High School are always a force to be reckoned with. With Dunbar moving into the 2A/1A Division there have been new players who are eager to knock of the Fort Hill giant. We predicted that the Final Four Contenders for the Maryland 1A Division will be as follows:
- Fort Hill High School
- Patterson Mill High School
- Cambridge South Dorchester High School
- Green Street Academy
Class 2A/1A Predictions:
Class 2A/1A showcases a diverse range of contenders, each with its unique style of play. In the past few years it has been the Dunbar Poets who have dominated the division with two back to back championships. Yet, this things may change with the emergence of Calvert, Patuxent, and Harford Tech. Patuxent was the runner up in 2022 beating Harford Tech who for the past two years have been a few plays away from making their first State Championship appearance. In the neighbor South Patuxent and Calvert each year duke it to determine who represents the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference for the 2A/1A Division. In a division with a plethora of talent, our Final Four schools are as follows:
- Dunbar (Baltimore) High School
- Harford Tech High School
- Patuxent High School
- Calvert High School
The predicted winner in Class 2A/1A heavily favors Dunbar yet the stage may be getting set for thrilling upset.
Class 2A Predictions:
Predicting the winner of the Maryland State 2A football playoffs is challenging due to the unpredictability of high school sports.
Our favorites for the Final Four schools are as follows:
-
- Damascus
- Stephen Decatur
- Owings Mills
- Huntingtown
However, anything can happen in the playoffs, making high school football in Maryland exciting. Factors such as performing under pressure, minimizing turnovers, and adapting to different game situations often determine playoff success. We will make educated predictions once the final four schools are selected.
Class 3A Predictions:
Class 3A promises a dynamic mix of experienced teams and emerging talents. With Damascus moving into the 2A Division teams like Linganore, Franklin, Atholton, and Oakdale now have a viable opportunity of dominating the division. Historically Damascus and Linganore have been the teams to beat, but now their are now players who are emerging as teams to beat such as Arundel who were State Runner Ups and Edgewood who in recent years have put up impressive numbers out of the Baltimore Region.
Our prediction for the Final Four teams are as follows:
- Oakdale High School
- Arundel High School
- Edgewood High School
- Atholton High School
Class 4A/3A Predictions:
In the Class 4A category, several powerhouse teams have emerged as top contenders. It’s shaping up to be a battle of titans, with high-scoring offenses and tenacious defenses. Our Final Four looks at perennial favorites to make the cut:
- Blake High School
- Frederick High School
- Perry Hall High School
- North Pointe High School
However, keep an eye on rising teams such as Blake High School and Perry Hall who may give defending champs North Pointe a run for their money.
Class 4A Predictions:
In the Class 4A Division, the battle for pure supremacy in Maryland 4A is without a question Quince Orchards. Who will snatch the power away from the juggernaut who has in recent year imposed there will on teams throughout the DMV. There are several powerhouses who can dethrone the camp and they are our three other Final Four finalist this year:
- Quince Orchard High School
- (Tied) CH Flowers High School or Wise High School
- Old Mills High School
- (Tied) Gaithersburg or Churchill High School
The Gaithersburg verse Churchill is a hard one. It is our X FACTOR Games that will be the difference maker for who advance to the big show. The Gaithersburg or Churchill High School is probably our Game of the Year because both team are playing very well, with one loss season, losing to Quince Orchard. The difference will be the run game for both teams. Whoever dominates the ground attack wins!
The Unpredictable Nature of High School Football:
One of the most captivating aspects of high school football playoffs is the unpredictable nature of the games. As the playoffs progress, fans are in for a treat, with every game promising excitement and unforgettable moments.
