This group of freshman athletes is already showing exceptional promise in California’s high school football scene. These freshmen are quickly gaining recognition for their skills on offense and defense, displaying impressive poise, speed, agility, and playmaking abilities. These young athletes are already demonstrating significant potential to grow into stars. Here are some athletes to keep an eye on:

                                                                                                               Scout Silva — Turlock High School                                                 As a dual-threat quarterback, Silva can extend plays with his legs while keeping his eyes downfield to find open receivers. His quick decision-making and ability to read defenses allow him to adjust on the fly, whether by delivering a deep ball, threading a tight window pass, or tucking the ball and picking up yards on the ground. His athleticism and accuracy make him a nightmare for opposing defenses, forcing them to account for his passing and rushing abilities.

Silva accumulated nearly 2,500 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and over 600 yards rushing throughout the season, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities.

With a blend of speed, vision, and power, Monroe has been a crucial piece of the Knights’ offensive attack, proving to be a playmaker in both the running and passing game. himself as a significant threat to opposing quarterbacks.

As a downhill runner with breakaway speed, Monroe excels at finding gaps in the defense and accelerating into open space. His quick-cutting ability and strong lower body allow him to shed tackles and extend plays, making him a difficult player to bring down.

                                                                                                           Jayon Garcia  – Desert Chapel High School                                   Jayon Garcia, a standout wide receiver at Desert Chapel High School, is quickly making a name for himself as a dynamic playmaker on the field. Known for his speed, route-running precision, and strong hands, Garcia has been a reliable target in the passing game, consistently creating separation from defenders and making big plays. His ability to track deep balls, secure contested catches, and gain yards after the catch has been instrumental in Desert Chapel’s offensive success. Standing at 5’9″ and 175 pounds, Reis is known for his high football IQ, physicality, and relentless pursuit of the ball. At 6’4″ and 205 pounds, Gonzales combines athleticism, strength, and a relentless work ethic, making him a force to be reckoned with in the trenches. Defensive Impact: Known for his ability to get to the quarterback and stop the run, Gonzales has been instrumental in La Mirada’s defensive schemes. Standing at 5’8″ and 145 pounds, Garrison combines speed, agility, and football IQ, making him a major asset in the secondary for his team. Defensive Skills: Known for his ability to read the quarterback’s eyes and make key interceptions, Garrison has demonstrated excellent coverage skills, often shutting down opposing receivers. His ability to quickly close on the ball and make plays in the open field has contributed significantly to Desert Christian’s defensive success.
