Top 2025 New York High School Quarterbacks to Watch

The 2024 cohort of New York high school quarterbacks has showcased remarkable talent and competitiveness. Leading the pack is Justus Kleitz of Iroquois High School, who set a Western New York single-season passing record with 3,234 yards. Here are some standout quarterbacks to watch:  

                                                                                                                          Justus Kleitz – Iroquois High School                                                                  As a junior, Justus Kleitz has significantly impacted the 2024 football season. Standing 6’5″ and weighing 220 pounds, Kleitz set a new Western New York single-season passing record, amassing 3,234 yards and leading the region in passing touchdowns. His remarkable performance earned him recognition as the First Student Super 7 Athlete of the Week.

 

                                                                                                                          Shane Kiernan – Miller Place High School                                                     As a junior, Shane Kiernan has been a standout quarterback in New York’s high school football scene. During the 2024 season, Kiernan threw for 2,829 yards, ranking him third in the state for passing yards. His leadership and consistent performance have been pivotal to Miller Place’s offensive success.

 

 

                                                                                                                                  Brady Waring – Eden/North Collins High School                                         Jacob Romanowski, a junior representing the combined Eden/North Collins team. Waring has demonstrated exceptional skill as a quarterback. In the 2024 season, Waring’s impressive passing abilities contributed to 2603 yards in the air and significantly to his team’s offensive strategies, placing him among the top quarterbacks in New York State.

 

                                                                                                                                Pooty Cunningham – Monroe High School                                                      As a sophomore, Pooty Cunningham has shown that he can play with the best of them. He has been a dynamic force on the field as a dual threat capable of changing the game at any time. Cunningham’s versatility as a passer and rusher has made him a challenging opponent for defenses, leading Monroe’s offense with 2415 yards and 27 touchdowns.
