Top 2025 Alabama High School Receivers to Watch

Alabama’s high school football scene in 2024 showcased exceptional talent, particularly among wide receivers. Below is an overview of some of the state’s standout wide receivers, highlighting their performances and contributions to their respective teams.

                                                                                                                                      Rollie Pinto – Piedmont High School                                                                             Rollie Pinto has emerged as one of Alabama’s top high school football talents, making a significant impact as a wide receiver for Piedmont High School. In the 2024 season, he shattered the Alabama state record for single-season receiving yards, racking up 1,826 yards on 108 receptions and scoring 22 touchdowns. He totaled 2,817 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns (22 receiving, plus rushing, punt return, and kickoff return TDs). His 20-catch game ranks 2nd in state history, earning him All-State honors. His outstanding performance earned him a spot on the Alabama Sports Writers Association 3A All-State Team and cemented his reputation as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the state. Despite overcoming an ACL injury earlier in his career, Pinto has proven his resilience and dedication, becoming a key contributor to Piedmont’s success on the field. His quickness and field awareness made him a difficult matchup for defenders, playing a crucial role in his team’s success. Rego capped off his 2024 season with 79 receptions for 1,587 yards, averaging 105.8 yards per game and scoring 14 touchdowns. 

Brody Jones – St. Michael Catholic High School (Fairhope)                             Junior Brody Jones played a pivotal role in St. Michael Catholic High School’s offense, showcasing precise route-running and reliable hands. His ability to perform in high-pressure situations made him a go-to target throughout the season. Jones concluded his impressive 2024 campaign with 78 receptions for 1,581 yards, averaging 112.9 yards per game and scoring 15 touchdowns.

                                                                                                                                  Jay’lin Taylor – Oxford High School                                                                      Junior Jay’lin Taylor proved to be a dynamic playmaker for Oxford High School, using his combination of size and speed to stretch the field and create explosive plays. His impact on the offense was undeniable, consistently making big contributions throughout the season. Taylor wrapped up his stellar 2024 campaign with 89 receptions for 1,436 yards, averaging 102.6 yards per game and scoring 14 touchdowns.

                                                                                                                                    Corey Barber (Junior) – Spain Park High School (Hoover)                            Junior Corey Barber showcased exceptional potential at Spain Park High School, combining athleticism and strong work ethic to deliver standout performances. His reliability and playmaking ability made him a key offensive weapon. Barber finished his impressive 2024 season with 87 receptions for 1,424 yards, averaging 109.5 yards per game and scoring 17 touchdowns.

                                                                                                                                Keeyun Chapman – Jackson High School                                                     Junior Keeyun Chapman emerged as a reliable and explosive wide receiver for Jackson High School, showcasing his ability to make contested catches and gain crucial yards after reception. His playmaking skills were instrumental in his team’s offensive success.

These athletes represent the high level of talent in Alabama’s high school football scene, each bringing unique strengths to their teams. Chapman capped off his impressive 2024 season with 51 receptions for 1,322 yards, averaging 88.1 yards per game and scoring 17 touchdowns.

                                                                                                                         Deshawn Hall – Valiant Cross Academy (Montgomery)                           As a sophomore, Deshawn Hall significantly impacted Valiant Cross Academy’s offense. Standing 6′5“, Hall utilized his height and athleticism to dominate the field. Over nine games in the 2024 season, he recorded 72 receptions for 1,155 yards, averaging 16.0 yards per catch and 128.3 yards per game, with two touchdowns. Notable performances include:

October 11, 2024, vs. Bessemer Academy: 150 receiving yards on eight receptions, averaging 18.8 yards per catch.  November 1, 2024, vs. Crenshaw Christian Academy: 144 receiving yards on 11 receptions, averaging 13.1 yards per catch.

Hall’s consistent performance was instrumental in Valiant Cross Academy’s offensive strategy throughout the season.

                                                                                                                                Carter Feagin – McAdory High School                                                Sophomore Carter Feagin made a name for himself with his speed and reliable hands, establishing himself as a dependable target in McAdory High School’s offense. Throughout the 2024 season, he hauled in 58 receptions for 1,016 yards, averaging 92.4 yards per game and scoring six touchdowns.
