1. Cayden Findley (QB) – Mount Saint Joseph – C/O 27
At 6’4″, Findley is a rising sophomore who has already made a name for himself. He led the Mt. Saint Joseph Gals Junior Varsity to an impressive 8-1 record and clinched the MIAA-A Class Championship with 16 touchdowns. With the departure of Winston Watkins, Findley now has the opportunity to compete for the coveted starting position on varsity.
Known for his love of launching deep passes and his adeptness at evading blitzes to secure crucial first downs, Findley’s potential is undeniable. 2. Kash Carter (QB) – Rock Creek Christian Academy – C/O 27
In his freshman year, Kash Carter of Rock Creek Christian Academy emerged as a standout player, earning recognition as a returning Fan Favorite and clinching the MaxPreps Maryland Head 2 Head Top Passer title. Impressive stats tell the tale: 2,291 yards on 262 attempts, with 23 touchdowns, averaging 254.6 yards per game. Despite his youth, Carter displayed remarkable maturity on the field, showcasing competitiveness, poise, and a knack for improvisation as an off-schedule playmaker. With such a strong debut, Carter’s potential for growth and improvement year by year is undeniable.
3. Corey Sanderlin (OL) – Indian River High School – C/O 26
Sanderlin is your guy for pancakes, serving them up in various delicious styles. During his sophomore year with the Maury Commanders, he was a key component on a 5A State Championship Team that dominated the Virginia 5A Class. He explodes off the snap, swiftly engaging with defensive players. His quick feet and athleticism shine, especially when tasked with pulling off blocks. Despite his size, he demonstrates impressive agility, sinking his hips and overpowering defensive ends. With lightning-fast hand placement, he consistently gains control in engagements. Once locked in, he drives through with powerful legwork, effectively clearing lanes for running plays. Additionally, he exhibits proficiency in scraping and reaching the second level, along with excellent down-blocking skills.
4. Dontavius Booker (RB) – Churchland High School – C/O 25
Hailing from Churchland High School, Dontavius Booker is a dynamic running back renowned for his elusiveness and ability to evade tackles. Demonstrating exceptional balance and pad level, he consistently churns out yards on every carry, accumulating an impressive 1,674 yards and 23 touchdowns. Booker excels at running between the tackles, effortlessly reaching the second level of the defense. His explosiveness is evident, particularly in open-field situations. In his junior season, he garnered 1st team All-State, Region, and Tidewater honors, solidifying his status as a standout player in high school football.
5. Zachary Manning – (DB) Druid Hills High School – C/O 25
Zachary Manning is a sleek defensive back with an athletic physique and sufficient length. Through dedicated effort, he has added 20 pounds of muscle to reach a weight of 180 pounds. Excelling in both football and track as a multi-sport athlete, Manning demonstrates versatility by playing on both offense and defense as a wide receiver and defensive back. His explosive bursts, agile footwork, smooth backpedal, adept hip movement, and flexibility give him an edge in trail technique.
With his impressive speed, Manning effectively lures quarterbacks into making poor decisions. As a natural defender, he excels in man coverage, quickly reading and reacting to receiver routes. Manning displays agility when breaking on the ball, demonstrating aggression in challenging routes, and competing for contested catches. His intuitive ability to shut down passing windows forces quarterbacks into difficult throws.
