As an 8th grader, Maximus Newsome had an exceptional season, showcasing maturity and skill beyond his years as the quarterback for Parkview Junior High School. Unlike many middle school quarterbacks, he demonstrated remarkable poise in evading defenders with quick footwork while keeping his focus downfield to locate open receivers. His agility allowed him to extend plays and gain positive yardage with his feet, embodying the spirit of a true competitor who thrives on making big plays.

During his 2023 8th-grade season, Newsome proved himself among the top players in the Atlanta Region by participating in the Southern Exposure All-American Game. Additionally, he impressed spectators at the Army All-American Middle School Game for Team Georgia, demonstrating his ability to find open receivers with precision.

With extensive experience competing against elite middle school athletes, Newsome enters high school play poised to impact his football career immediately. His performance against some of the nation’s top athletes solidified his status as a rising star to watch, particularly during the intense 1v1 matchups. Ultimately, he emerged as one of the top quarterback MVPs at the camp, cementing his reputation as a standout talent with a promising future ahead.

As a high school quarterback, Newsome’s development hinges on his ability to advance and refine his precision passes. Improving accuracy and reducing sail on his throws while increasing release speed will be crucial as he faces stronger, more aggressive defensive backs. His capacity to perform under pressure will greatly influence his readiness to start immediately. With his confidence and unwavering determination to succeed, we anticipate Newsome exceeding all expectations.
