Top Performers Emerge from Inaugural NCEC DMV Camp at Morgan State University

Baltimore, MDOn the beautiful and historic campus of Morgan State University, over 145+ high school and middle school athletes gathered for the inaugural NCEC DMV Camp — a powerful new chapter in the national exposure movement for under-recruited football talent. Standing in the shadow of Morgan State’s legendary football legacy, athletes at the NCEC DMV Camp competed on sacred ground. Morgan State University has long been a powerhouse in developing NFL talent, producing Hall of Famers like Willie Lanier, the first African American middle linebacker inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Leroy Kelly, a two-time NFL rushing champion and Cleveland Browns legend. The legacy also includes greats like Roosevelt Brown, a dominant offensive lineman for the New York Giants, and Len Ford, one of the most feared defensive ends of his era and a key part of the Cleveland Browns’ 1950s dynasty. These athletes helped pave the way for future generations, and this camp gave rising stars the rare chance to showcase their skills in the very stadium where greatness once took root. Surrounded by the echoes of champions, each camper stood not only on a football field — but in the presence of history.

After the intense seminar, the student-athletes were locked in, ready to hit the field for a day of competitive evaluations, skill development, and showcase moments designed to elevate their recruiting profiles.

From Zybec NFL performance testing to elite 1-on-1 reps and positional drills, the camp delivered more than just competition — it brought together a diverse group of hungry athletes from across the DMV, the Northeast, the South, and even Canada, all vying to prove they belonged on the national stage.

LOCKED IN: ONE-ON-ONE  UNEXPECTED SHINING STARS *(Navy All-American Top Gun Invite)

The one-on-one battles — the crown jewel of any elite football camp — delivered fireworks at the DMV NCEC Camp. Surprisingly, two eighth-grade phenoms rose above the pack, even outshining some of the top high school athletes on the field.

On offense, Overall Middle School Overall MVP Gaddiel Agosto Jr. (C/O 2029), a shifty slot receiver from Magnolia Middle School in Edgewood, Maryland, put on a clinic. With crisp routes, fearless play, and reliable hands, he didn’t just hold his own — he performed like a veteran, making highlight plays against older, more experienced defenders. He plays with a refined ability to change speeds, creating separation in his routes and playing bigger than his size. You will definitely hear the name Gaddiel Agosto Jr. again!

On the other side of the ball, Defensive Lineman MVP  Ashton Powell (C/O 2029) from Riverdale Baptist in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, showcased power and poise well beyond his years. After dominating his middle school peers, Powell requested to compete against high school linemen — and still made his presence felt. His explosiveness off the ball and relentless motor in the trenches turned heads and drew respect from older competitors. Despite his age, Powell showed that he had more than one trick in his bag and imposed his will on a group of linemen who did not give up much ground all day.

Both Agosto Jr. and Powell proved that age is just a number and left no doubt that they are future stars to watch in the DMV football pipeline.
